What Our Training Includes:

Our accredited courses combine essential theory with practical, scenario‑based skills to prepare staff for real‑world situations. We combine theory with practical learning which includes:

 

Core Theory

  • Understanding the law, reasonable force, and professional responsibilities 
  •  Health considerations, medical risks, and safer ways of working 
  •  Communication, de‑escalation, and recognising early signs of escalation
  •  Risk assessment, situational awareness, and safer decision‑making 
  •  Person‑centered care, dignity, and ethical practice

Practical Skills

  • Safe disengagement from common holds and grabs 
  •  Teamwork, positioning, and safe approaches 
  •  Guided practice in safe holds and physical interventions 
  • De-escalation techniques in chairs and PODs 
  • Techniques for safe administration of intravenous medication 
  •  Controlled descents, transitions, and safer floor management 
  • Safe use of seclusion options 
  •  Scenario‑based drills to build confidence and competence

This gives learners a complete understanding of why situations escalate, how to respond safely, and what to do to protect themselves and others.

A focused refresher designed to enhance confidence, update knowledge, and maintain safe, competence practice. We combine theory with practical learning which includes:
