Founder and Lead Trainer
Mark Draper
Mark is the Founder of Safer Solutions and a highly experienced GSA-accredited Grade A PMVA Tutor for a large NHS Trust.
He began his career in healthcare in 2001 as a Healthcare Worker in a medium secure hospital, where he developed a deep understanding of patient care, risk, and the realities of frontline practice. In 2004, he became a GSA‑accredited PMVA Tutor, marking the start of a lifelong commitment to safe, respectful, and effective conflict management training.
Mark went on to spend 15 years as a Use of Force Instructor within the Prison Service, delivering training across a wide range of environments and working with staff facing some of the most challenging situations in the system. His experience in both healthcare and custodial settings gives him a unique, balanced perspective on safety, behaviour, and trauma‑informed practice.
After moving to the NHS as a full‑time PMVA Tutor and lead search trainer, Mark founded Safer Solutions to address a problem he saw repeatedly: staff arriving for upskilling with certificates, but without competence. Training had been rushed, delivered to large groups, and lacked the practice time and explanation needed for real understanding. Safer Solutions was created to change that.
Mark is known for his calm, supportive teaching style, his ability to link theory to real‑world practice, and his commitment to ensuring every learner leaves confident, capable, and genuinely safe.
